No backlight to overpower
The panel reflects ambient light instead of fighting it, so legibility rises with the sun rather than collapsing under it.

1 / 8A 43-inch free-standing RLCD kiosk designed for digital signage, delivering clear portrait-format content with reliable 24/7 operation. The panel is a reflective LCD: it has no backlight and forms the image from the light already falling on it, so contrast rises with the ambient level instead of collapsing under direct sun. Removing the backlight also removes the largest load in a conventional signage display, which is why the kiosk can run its media player and panel from the integrated solar panel where the site allows, with mains as the fallback. Content is driven by the built-in Android 11 media player (2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage) over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB, so a standard signage CMS or a folder of files works without an external player. The white A-frame stand folds for transport and the rear panel is vented for continuous outdoor duty. Typical placements are storefronts, forecourts, campuses, transport stops and event sites where a backlit screen would either wash out at noon or exceed the power available. Every published figure for this module is issued as a datasheet with the conditions it was measured under. How reflective LCD works.
Every published figure carries the conditions it was measured under. Request the datasheet for this module.

With no backlight in the stack, display draw falls to a fraction of a comparable transmissive panel — often the difference between mains and solar.
The backlight is usually the first thing to fail in an unconditioned enclosure. Removing it removes both its lifetime curve and its share of the heat.
Measured reflectance, contrast, power draw and the temperature characterisation are issued as a datasheet against your application, with the test conditions for each figure. We do not publish figures without the conditions behind them.
From 3 weeks for catalogue modules, quoted per order by quantity and destination. Finished kiosks and bonded assemblies add the enclosure build or the bonding cycle.
Confirmed within 12 hours. Sample charges depend on the module and the project and are stated before anything ships.
One year against factory faults from the date of dispatch. Application-related damage, such as an unbonded panel run outside its stated ambient range, is not covered.
Reflective LCD class figures, not this module's rating: white-state reflectance 10 to 20 % (D65, 8° / diffuse geometry), contrast ratio 15:1 to 30:1 measured at 10,000 lux, video-rate refresh, operating range −30 °C to +85 °C. The measured values for this module are issued on the datasheet with their test conditions.
Panels outside the published range are built to your enclosure, interface and power budget. Send the enclosure drawing and an application engineer replies with a specified module.
Tell us what it is going into. An application engineer confirms the fit, sends the datasheet with its test conditions and ships a sample if the module fits.
